SLEITI has completed its 1st Report covering payments made to the Government of Sierra Leone by six industrial mining companies, two large exporters/dealers as well national and sub-national institutions for the period January 2006 to December 2007. The Report was submitted to the Multi-Stakeholder Group and the SLEITI Champion at a ceremony held at State House on Monday 8 March 2010. The Report will be launched towards the end of March 2010.
The next objective is to ensure that Sierra Leone attains Compliant status through the validation process for which the Request For Proposal has already been sent to the fourteen validation firms for recruitment.
